Why Kettlebells?

Kettlebell training is radically different from any other form of training. It is an example of the Japanese call "Kaizen". Kaizen is continuous and never-ending improvement. Part of it is the base exercise, the kettlebell SWING. It’s a two-for-one exercise. It combines the benefits of resistance training and cardiovascular conditioning in one very powerful exercise. No other exercise works so many strength and fitness aspects. There is no "magic" involved here. The key to the incredible results is the fact that all of the kettlebell exercises are essentiall total body exercises. You basically get a total body workout with one simple tool!

One of the secrets of kettlebell training comes from the cannonball shape and offset handle. It allows a much different kind of movement than barbells, dumbells or any other free weight. The design allows for both BALLISTIC - explosive - and GRIND - slow and controlled - type movements.

The biggest benefit to HardStyleBody training is how you will learn to move better through the use of kettlebells. That's right! Kettlebells actually teach you to move in a way that is better, stronger, and safer. Today, we seem to have lost this kind of movement due to sedentary lifestyles and occupations. The couch and the computer screen start to form habits in our posture that kettelbell training can correct. Exercises like the TGU (Turkish Get Up) are staples of the HardStyleBody program and is an example of how this training can help us to reclaim our true movement and flexibility.

Strong First!

Strong First follows the philosophy that "to reach high levels of power, endurance, sport skill, and fat loss you must become strong first. Period."  The founder of Strong First describes it as a "Brother and Sisterhood of Iron" and says that StrongFirst is a "School of Strength - teaching men and women how to reach high levels of strength quickly, safely, and without interfering with their duty, job, or sport. The system has a proven record with professional athletes, elite military and law enforcement operators—as well as people from all walks of life who have decided to be weak no more. Strong First builds strength with several powerful tools—kettlebells, barbells, and bodyweight—and one set of universal training principles."
